On Thursday, April 20th, Family Promise is celebrating its fourth annual Giving Day, a 24-hour online campaign to raise awareness and support for families battling homelessness. Family Promise’s network of over 200 Affiliates across the country will come together to participate in this annual digital awareness event. Family Promise of Greene County is the local Family Promise affiliate in Xenia, Ohio providing services to prevent homelessness and to serve families experiencing homelessness.
This year, Family Promise is asking community members to “Give an Hour” on Giving Day – whether that is an hour of time volunteering, an hour’s worth of salary as a donation, or an hour spent raising awareness of the 2.5 million children who experience homelessness every year in America. Deanna McCrary, Executive Director for Family Promise of Greene County, is excited about this year’s campaign. She believes that “whether they volunteer, donate, or share the word – each individual plays an important role in building the village of support necessary to end homelessness.” All donations will stay here in Greene County to help families who are in danger or experiencing homelessness in our community.
