Ending homelessness…

one family at a time.  We give parents the hope, encouragement, and connections they need to create a better future for their kids and end the cycle of homelessness.  Through our emergency housing, housing opportunities, and stabilization services, we’ve helped hundreds of families build a stronger future.

WHO WE ARE

A Community Response

No family should be without a place to call home, but sadly, it’s a reality for many families here in Greene County. Family Promise of Greene County, Ohio (FPGC) provides emergency shelter and basic needs to families with children experiencing homelessness. While a family stays in our homeless shelter, we provide a welcoming and safe place to land and connect families with resources to help them thrive. Our mission is to help families experiencing homelessness and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response

FPGC started hosting displaced families in The Schneider House of Hope at 124 S Detroit St. starting June 27, 2010. We are an affiliate of Family Promise, Inc. – a national movement involving more than 200,000 volunteers which served over 177,000 people in 2020. FPGC (formerly IHN of Greene County) has been serving our community since 1995. We have a vision for a community in which every family has a home, a livelihood and a chance to build a better future.
